Welcome to ‘Reach Out To Reiki’
The Usui System of Natural Healing
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "Life Force Energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
How to explain Reiki? The truth is that no one really knows how or why Reiki works. It is clear that it works, but currently modern science has provided no explanation, but they are working on it! The best way for anyone to understand Reiki is to receive a treatment from a Reiki therapist. I encourage you to try this wonderful healing modality and decide for yourself.
Reiki is not a belief system. It is not necessary to belong to any religion or hold any particular religious beliefs to benefit from Reiki, everyone can benefit from Reiki.
Reiki healing treatments are hands on and non intrusive - usually the Reiki healing treatment is given with the client laying down on a treatment couch. No massage is involved and the client remains fully clothed.
Reiki is a simple yet profound ancient Japanese healing method, a "laying on hands" technique. It was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui during a mystical experience on Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain north of Kyoto, Japan. The word Reiki, pronounced Ray-Kee, is actually two Japanese words. Rei means "universal or spirit" and Ki means "life force". Reiki therefore refers to the Universal Life Force Energy; the combination of spiritual and physical force energy. Reiki is energy, pure and simple. If you want to know more about Dr.Usui follow this link.
Our bodies are not only bones, muscles, nerves, glands and organs; we also consist of an energy system that keeps our bodies functioning smoothly. This unseen energy is active around us and flowing through us, giving us the energy we need to survive, just as the air flows and give us the oxygen we need to breathe in order to live. It's the same energy that nature uses to make trees grow; the flowers bloom, the sun warms us, etc. The meridian lines in the body are the main pathways through which Ki, or life force energy, moves and flows. When our "life force energy" is low we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, whereas if it is high, we are more capable of being healthy and happy.
Reiki therapy helps to balance and align the physical, etheric, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies promoting changes in the chemical and biological structure of the body. Reiki creates unity and wholeness throughout the body, mind, and spirit; reducing stress, helping relaxation therefore, promoting healing. Reiki is neither a religion nor a creed; Reiki is compatible with any other faiths or beliefs, you don't actually have to believe in Reiki at all for it to work.
This energy channelled through the hands of a Reiki therapist is actually drawn by the client itself activating his/her body's natural ability to heal itself. More specifically, the Reiki energy is introduced via the hands of the therapist onto the energy field or "Aura" that surrounds the client and is absorbed onto the body via the "Chakras". The client absorbs only the energy needed. Reiki is a very gentle therapy; it has no side effect and can be used on children, elderly, animal and plants.
